Your First-Period Kit: What to Keep Ready

What to pack

• A few pads — a couple of regular, and one heavier for overnight or busy days.
• A couple of panty liners for light days or spotting.
• One spare pair of underwear, in case of a leak.
• A small zip pouch or bag to keep it all together and private.
• A few wet wipes or a travel pack of tissues.
• A small sealable bag (like a sandwich bag) to wrap a used pad if there is no bin nearby.
• Optional: a pain reliever — only if a parent has said it is okay and shown you the right amount.
• Optional: a little comfort — gum, a small treat, or a note that reminds you that you can do this.

Where to keep it

Keep one kit in your backpack so it travels with you, and if you can, a small backup in your locker, gym bag, or a desk drawer. That way you are covered almost anywhere you go.
